About Dyslexly
Dyslexly is a Chrome extension that makes ordinary websites easier to read if you are dyslexic or experience visual stress on screen. It was built in the UK to solve a simple problem: reading tools should work on the pages you already use — not only in a separate app or document editor.
Most of the web is designed for neurotypical eyes — thin fonts, tight spacing, bright white backgrounds. Many accessibility tools are expensive, require accounts, or bundle features you never need. Dyslexly keeps the reading essentials free: OpenDyslexic font, spacing controls, colour overlays, line focus, and read-aloud on any site you open.
Who it helps: students doing research and homework, adults reading email and news at work, parents supporting dyslexic children, and teachers who want a simple classroom tool without a heavy IT rollout. Schools can deploy site licences; individuals install from the Chrome Web Store in one click.
Privacy by design: your reading settings stay on your device. Dyslexly does not track the sites you visit. Optional Dyslexly Pro funds ongoing development — word prediction, dictation, grammar help, and saved settings per website.
Dyslexly is designed with input from dyslexic readers, parents, and educators. If the extension helps you, sharing it with someone who struggles to read online is one of the best ways to support the project.
